Graduates coming on board at Liberty IT generally start as associate software engineers, and have the chance to be creative and have their voice heard, all the while learning from experienced senior software engineers.
Starting in October every year, our graduate IT recruitment provides opportunities for those who have either recently completed degrees in software engineering, computer Science, or an IT related discipline, as well as those in their final year of study.
A five-week training programme for new graduates at Liberty IT allows associate software engineers to get up to speed and make new friends, while also working on a team project which is then used for a business solution.
Liberty IT counts on a dynamic recruitment process for graduates which steers clear of the traditional CV application and standard interview.
The graduate recruitment process involves a series of active stages, including an application form, an online coding test through Codility, and a half day recruitment centre. The recruitment centre is made up of three stages: a mini interview, a team challenge, and a bug finding task. Role and Responsibilities
At Liberty IT, no two days are the same, particularly for our graduates. Our aim is to make the lives of Liberty Mutual customers easier through creating and maintaining top notch software and our graduates help us to do that.
Specifically, a graduate role as an associate software engineer will involve the following:
- Delivering real value by working as part of an agile team to solve real business problems.
- Communicating and collaborating with your team and customers to have exposure to the entire software development lifecycle.
- Delivering high quality, tested and secure code following the processes and standards within the team.
- Using a range of architectures, tools and frameworks, and having the opportunity to experiment and learn new technologies.
- Suggesting and implementing new ideas and innovations.
- Collaborating with and learning from developers across our organization through internal networks, events and communities of practice.
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or an IT-related discipline, at a minimum of a 2:2.
- Relevant work or placement experience.
- A proven ability to deliver working code.
