By Our People, For Our People – How Culture Playbook & Culture Stars Came to Life

At Liberty IT, culture has never been a side project, it is the foundation of everything we do. It’s what connects our people, fuels innovation and helps every individual bring their best self to work.  

That belief has now taken shape in our new, people-powered initiative: the Liberty IT Culture Playbook — a living reflection of who we are as a community. Co-created from employee feedback, ideas and stories, the Playbook captures what makes us distinctive, inclusive and united by purpose.

Six Pillars, One Purpose 

At its heart, the Culture Playbook is about connection, bringing clarity and shared purpose to how Liberty IT works together. It celebrates individuality while highlighting the common threads that unite us: being part of something bigger, embracing change and inspiring others to do the same. 

The Playbook is built around six cultural pillars that define who we are and how we grow together: ‘Be part of the big picture’, ‘Be here, change here’, ‘Be inspired’, ‘Be challenged. Be challenging’, ‘Be brilliant’ and ‘Be yourself’.

Together, these principles form a shared compass, guiding how teams work, grow and support one another. They also give language to something Liberty IT’s people have always felt — that the company’s strength lies in collaboration, curiosity and care. 

 

Recognition That Reflects Our Values: Culture Stars 

As part of the Culture Playbook initiative, Liberty IT also introduced Culture Stars — a peer-selected recognition programme celebrating employees who live the company’s values in real, everyday ways. 

The initiative invites our people to nominate colleagues who make a positive difference, whether by mentoring others, driving innovation or creating a sense of belonging within their teams.

To make the process even more inclusive, the team built on Liberty IT’s innovation roots by introducing LibertyGPT, an internal generative AI assistant trained on the Playbook content to help employees craft their nominations. 

The first group of Culture Stars was recognised at Forward Live, Liberty IT’s internal conference celebrating innovation and connection across the business. 

Their stories will continue to be shared in the months ahead, showing what it means to live the Playbook, not just read it.
